Aftershock 2026 – A Review
Sun, Dust and Rock & Roll! What a weekend.
Sacramento has been home to the rock music
festival since 2012 and it’s been gradually expanding and
growing, but this years festivities was
an October weekend for the books. Now lasting four days,
Discovery Park hosted over 140
bands on five stages. Sacramento showed up to see their favorite
bands; as did music fans
travelling from all over the United States.
It kicked off on Thursday and the night ended with American rock
band My Chemical Romance
bring us all along to see The Black Parade and sing our hearts
out to their hit songs. Friday was
headlined by Limp Bizkit and the earlier bands included other
hip-hot and rap adjacent groups
like Silly Goose, Suicideboys, Insane Clown Posse and Wu-Tang
Clan. Saturday hosted some
legends of post-hardcore, including Circa Survive in their second
show of this reunion, DC
hardcore band Thursday and local heroes, Dance Gavin Dance.
Sacramento went hard and
kicked up dust in the heat, which reached a whopping 116 degrees
on the Faultline stage around 4pm.
Drawing over 160,000 attendees, since the festival ended there
has been a call to enhance
security measures since there was only one guard per 500 people
and many felt that they were not available when needed during
emergency situations.
Overall the festival brings in a huge revenue for the city of
Sacramento with the local food
vendors, hotels and businesses and it has renewed its contract to
be held at the park for another ten years. Here’s to many more
years of rock music in the 916!
