A sound built from pierre’s infrastructure of cartoony melodies, thin trap drums, and thwarting basses: tdf opts sustains the vibes while still turning the pitch knob way down.
tdf, also known as ‘i love you’, is the underground’s producer – in both name and impact. To date, scattered across a handful of aliases and alt accounts, he has 5 “official” album/mixtapes released -

But more than albums, these are underground rap frat parties filled with artists from all over the autotune swag rap multiverse.
Features on his albums range from the typical mainstays of okaymar (fun fact they met in a high school class) 1oneam, ohsxnta, to an occasional che, dom corleo, osamason, etc.
*If I list more artist names, it’ll sound like a collection of gamertags in a call of duty lobby or destiny raid team.
The rappers themselves, musically, aren’t re-inventing the wheel they just icing it out. Taking inspiration from lil tecca, chief keef, duwap kaine - continuing to spew forgettable feel-good verses in a flushed out autotune. Cohesive in subject matter and vocal delivery, the artists flow through the albums like a school of fish.
This is a homemade, vibey, feel good, movement that works so well because of the production.
The top line drums and melodics are filled with space while the bass leaves us paddling for air; molding the low end of the mix into reflective flooring where leads are spiraling and bouncing around octaves like laser beams. Drums, although sitting the high end, are pitched way down and left to flutter rather than run- the delay on the hi-hats sounds like they playing hopscotch.
Laced in-between it all are the cartoon network sound efx pack and lion roars just to top it off. Above all, even though beats are filled with clusters of sound and feel, tdf still manages create an anti-cluttered field.

The 29-track length of the album is a bit daunting as underground trap is not meant to be overconsumed.
The first half of the tape loses to the second. The verses feel mailed in and walked through along with the beats. The vocalist selection, especially on the song ‘In Da Klub’ are simply the wrong choice. This beat is so cute and sparkly but has bulldogs screaming all over it; the juxtaposition knob was pulled too far to the right.
The second half of the album is where it really picks up. Starting from the track ‘Asics’. The beat samples an old, out of tune piano, that oddly slots beautifully into tdf’s world. The tracks that follow the old timey swag anthem are a much more cohesive 14 track run.
Songs ’Nonsense’, ‘Trickshot’, ‘Antisocial’ are among the highlights in the second half tdf offensive with the last track, “Love Me” giving us the most pure serene hue spiralinl feel of 1oneam’s sound.
Overall, even if louder than love was more an instagram story photo dump than an official polished product, the record did its job. Giving us a new aisle to explore in tdf’s dark purple underground candy store.
